Archaeogeosaurus</b> (top)

Pronunciation: "ARE-key-OH-Gee-OH-sore-us"

Meaning: "Ancient Earth Lizard"

Rank: B+ (possibly A-?)

Height: 4'

Length: 22'6"

Weight: 402 lbs

Overview

Archaeogeosaurus is an ancient kreature that existed from the end of the age of Trilaterals through to the end of the age of Protokreatures. Only one fossil of this kreature has been found so far, but it seems to carry some traces of genetic material left over within the body. At first glance the fossil shows that it seems to look like a lizard, but genetics specialists have found that it is more (questionably) related to earths' crocodiles. It has large eyes that may indicate that it was nocturnal. Even though it has a sprawling stance, palaeontologists believe it can run to at least 24 mph, but it can only run in short bursts. This leads palaeontologists to believe it was an ambush predator. Impressions in the rock the fossil was found in show that it not only had a hard, strong, scaly covering, but on its' toes there are impressions of skin, which could mean that it was amphibious, being able to hunt on land and it the water.

Palaeontologists suggest that the scales that covered this kreature overlapped each other, especially the large ones around its' tail and at the back of its' skull. It has been theorized that Archaeogeosaurus could fan out the scales on its' tail and head, as well as on the rest of its' body, to appear more larger and menacing. It could use this method to frighten other predators or rivals. It has also been theorized that the scales were hard enough to repel many forms of attacks. Also, nearby the fossil skeleton in a burrow like cavity was a nest of 16 eggs. Scans show that they were Archaeogeosaurus eggs, and that perhaps the fossil is the mother looking after its' eggs.

Basic Powers/Weapons
One of its' greatest strength is in its' jaws. It can bite with a force of 3,000 lbs psi (pounds per square inch). And its' muscles can allow it to drag a meal half its' weight over a great distance. When swimming, it can hold its' breath for perhaps about 6 hours. Its' claws are lethal fight tools when fighting rival predators. its' tail is strong and muscular, and with the addition of hard scales, can easily break bone with one quick swing. It has incredible digging abilities, and can dig at incredible speeds. Its' tongue can stretch out at almost twice the length of its' skull, also making it a useful weapon.

Senses

Vision: 8 (could probably see in both night and day)
Hearing: 3
Taste: 7 (could smell with its tongue like modern snakes)
Smell: 5
Touch: 2 (its' underbelly and throat are just soft enough to pick up vibrations in the ground)

Disposition: It is believed to be fiercely territorial and solitary. Males and females will usually claim their own territory and fight against other Archaeogeosaurs highly aggressively to protect them. The area must only support one Archaeogeosaur. Females usually look after their nest of eggs, but after a couple days after they hatch, the young are on their own. They score a close 8 out of 10 on the KBF's danger and aggression scale.

Diet: Archaeogeosaurs are active predators that rely on ambush rather than wearing down prey. They are opportunistic feeders, eating anything from fresh meat to decaying carrion to even, in lean times, nibble a bit of vegetaion. Palaeontologists believe their stomach acids are strong enough to dissolve any organic material.

Habitat: Palaeontologists assume Archaeogeosaurs live from desert climate to tropical jungles. However, they cannot be found in cold climates. Only one fossil has been found within the North Zaizaa continent, though it is suspected that they actually live globally!

Strenghts: Archaeogeosaurs have tough bodies and are partially between the lines of being cold-blooded and warm-blooded. Their scales practically make the best defense against attack. Tests reveal that the fossil alone is strong to barely scratch diamond (though some suspect it's due to the minerals within the fossil). Its' tail and jaws are strong enough to break the bones of its' prey as well as any other kreature unlucky enough to stand in its' way.

Weaknesses: It is believed that Archaeogeosaurs cannot live in cold climates due to the fact that they are not nearly warm-blooded enough to sustain their own body temperature. What's more, they have poor hearing so they could not detect another kreature unless it smells it first. Also, it cannot feel many injuries due to its' strong scales, so it could be unaware of any fatal injuries it may have sustained in battle. And finally, Archaeogeosaurus is more of an instinctive kreature than cunning. It can only process one moment at a time in its' brain, leaving it vulnerable to any outside interferences, and perhaps be easily distracted.

Tyrannotherisaurus Rex</b> (bottom)

Pronunciation: "Tie-ran-OH-THEER-ee-sore-us Rex"

Meaning: "Tyrant Beast Lizard King"

Rank: A+ (or greater ?)

Height: 32'

Length: 50'-70'

Weight: 8-15 tons

Overview

Known only from an incomplete skeleton (which unfortunately is missing the crucial skull) from Odak Island, palaeontologist believe that Tyrannotherisaurus was one of the apex predators of its time. Theorized to be a cousin of Gexrex and other similar predators at the time, it lived on the island where it did not have to compete with other large predators for food, thus it was able to grow to great size. From the miniscule traces of soft tissue, palaeontologists have discovered that Tyrannotherisaurus is the imageo of Archaeogeosaurus, and changed somehow from Protokreature to Kreature. Some palaeontologist believe that like some predators, Tyrannotherisaurs hunted in packs, cared for their young, and may even have been canibalistic due to pressures on island living.

Tyrannotherisaurs have small arms like the Tyrannosaurs on earth, but they are actually stronger than even a humans' arm, and with a surprising third finger, a small, clawless opposable thumb, it had a strong grip when tackling prey. Its' body was covered in bony scutes that made its' body more tough and durable than its' descendant. Plus, a tall row of scaly spines lines its' back, which can be folded or unfolded to either attract a mate or scare off rivals. Its' long, powerful legs gives it mobility that was denied from its' former race, the Archaeogeosaurs. It also has incredible swimming abilities thanks to its' crocodile-like tail which can also be used as a powerful weapon. It can swim great distances (could possibly even swim to the mainland) and dive a depth of 100 feet below the surface and hold its' breath for 10 hours. Despite missing the skull, palaeontologist believe Tyrannotherisaurs were far more intelligent than their predecessors, being able to make tactical maneuvers on either their prey or an opponent. Palaeontologists suspect that this kreature holds some resemblance to the legendary Leviathan, but this is pure speculation.

Basic Powers/Weapons

Palaeontologists believe tyrannotherisaurus had a powerful bite strong enough to maybe crush a tank, useful in hunting animals with a hard shell, and can rip off and swallow 50 lbs of flesh. However, without a skull to study no one is certain. It can also deliver a powerful kick with its' strong legs, or multiple kicks at once by standing on its' tail like a kangaroo. Its' tail can also break the bones of many kinds of kreaturez, either by slamming or by spinning its' body around and using its' tail like a club. It can also jump high in the air to deliver a jump kick, or it can spin its' body forward and use its' spines as a buzz saw to cut through the hides of other kreaturez.  Palaeontologists believe that in addition to the great physical strength of Tyrannotherisaurus, it could also use a number of specialized attacks. Aside from cutting into its' opponents with its' spines, it can also use an electric charge while performing the attack, which is called an "Electric Saw Assault". Another electrical attack is when Tyrannotherisaurus bends its' head down and erects its' spines, builds a charge, and then unleashes a pulse of electricity in all directions, and the pulse travels for about half a mile. It is predicted that the voltage would be enough to stun a kreature for a few hours, while in todays' world could black out an entire city. In the water, it can swim at impressive speeds despite its' great size, and can swim around to create whirlpools to trap opponents.  One of its' conventional weapons are fire breath attacks like a flamethrower, shooting small fireballs, and one meteor-like fireball. These fire attacks have a light bluish color that reaches temperatures of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. It is surprising capable of digging underground at great speeds, and can ambush from directly underneath an opponent. and by slamming its' tail on the ground, it can cause earthquake tremors of different magnitudes to throw its' opponent off balance. Its' most powerful attack is an energy blast from its' mouth that can obliterate a whole mountain to the ground, but it leaves Tyrannotherisaurus exhausted for a brief moment after using it.

Senses

Vision: 9
Hearing: 6
Taste: 8
Smell: 10
Touch: 4

Disposition: It is believed that so far this is the most dangerous of all kreaturez that once lived. Males are dangerous enough towards rivals or invaders to their territory, but females are more dangerous when they have offspring to protect. If a male kills a females' offspring and doesn't eat them all, a females' first instinct is to store energy for another chance to breed, and will then eat its' dead offspring. Sometimes Tyrannotherisaurs will literally fight to the death. If they were alive at this time, they would probably be unstoppable. Their score is a perfect 10 of the KBF's danger and aggression scale.

Diet: Tyrannotherisaurs are purely carnivorous. As far as they're concerned, anything that moves is a potential meal, even their smaller and younger versions. It is presumed that they hunt in packs, though there is not enough evidence to support this fact.

Habitat: Tyrannotherisaurs are believed to live in warm climates, in habitats from open fields to woodlands, where ever they can find substantial prey and raise young. However, some palaeontologists believe that because of their great swimming ability, Tyrannotherisaurs can travel anywhere they want and live anywhere they want, they may even be able to cope with cooler temperatures after becoming a more warm-blooded kreaturez.

Strengths: If it were alive, Tyrannotherisaurus would undoubtedly be the most powerful kreature on the planet! With great physical strength, a variable range of attacks, and predatory intellect, there would be little hope of defeating a massive, and powerful animal!

Weaknesses: However, despite having such power, even Tyrannotherisaurus had its weaknesses. Its' most prominent weakness, is that it can only tolerate a certain cool temperature. If the temperature around its' body drops below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, Tyrannotherisaurus will start to become less active and convert to a state of hibernation. Also, it can only battle for so long, about an hour tops. Tyrannotherisaurus also can only short bursts of speed, but they are incredible speeds. And finally, its' most powerful attack leaves it open to attack during the brief time it needs to recover.

Both Kreaturez died out a few million years ago perhaps due to being too specialized to adapt to changing climate and habitat. Unless palaeontologists can revive one of the two, we will never know how they truly lived. Though it seems one of the eggs within the nest looks strangely well preserved, almost perfectly healthy, as though it were laid yesterday.......
*whew*! Now THAT'S a lot of typing!

This is it! My own original Kreaturez! My last year entry was cool, but didn't really make an impression. So I came up with a different set of Kreaturez that might get some attention.

For Archaeogeosaurus, I used various parts of lizards like the bearded dragon, frilled lizard, gila monster, komodo dragon just to name a few. And for Tyrannotherisaurus, I used parts of various large carnivorous dinosaurs such as Carnotaurus, Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus, and one of my favorites, the original Tyrannosaurus Rex! I also added a few other features like being connected with an earth legend, and I thought about Michael Jackson's V. Rex when designing Tyrannotherisaurus. The real hassle was coming up with name for them. I wanted something original, yet more like I'm naming real animals. So I looked up Wikipedia for some Greek and Latin words, luckily I found a good batch! I hope :iconkoobine: enjoys these as well as everyone else!

Hrm. I'm not too crazy about Tyrannotherisaurus. I've got plenty of T. Rex inspired Kreatures already. Archaeogeosaurus is neat, though. I like its tail.
